.BIM File

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a new process and methodology in which a team of architects, engineers, and contractors collaborate to design and construct a commercial building using the same database and computer model. This enables the team to analyze and visualize design decisions long before the project begins.

BIM, at its core, offers a digital representation of the actual facility, including function systems (HVAC, electrical) and aesthetics (walls, roof, windows).

Building Information Modeling

.BIM File

As well as our standard Matterport virtual tour service, we offer a Building Information Modeling (BIM) file. This option is primarily for architects, designers, and engineers to accurately capture the current state of any building. The files show comprehensive architectural, furniture, and MEP elements. The following details will be displayed on your .BIM file.

Plumbing Fixtures: Generic fixtures placed according to a location in plan, modeled to size; modeled only when exposed and clearly visible; elements higher than 15’ may have 3”+ variance.

Pipes: Generic pipes over 2” in diameter placed according to a location in plan, modeled to size; modeled only when exposed and clearly visible; elements higher than 15’ may have 3”+ variance.

Power / Data Outlets: General model in place element as a placeholder, modeled only whenever clearly unobstructed, and clearly visible within the point cloud.

HVAC Ducts: Generic fixtures placed according to a location in the plan, modeled to size; modeled only when exposed and clearly visible; elements higher than 15’ may have 3”+ variance.

Conduit: Generic conduits over 2” in diameter placed according to a location in plan, modeled to size; modeled only when exposed and clearly visible; elements higher than 15’ may have 3”+ variance.
